Eat Your Stories: You Are My Sunshine

That evening Puddle made five-berry cobbler with heaps of whipped cream.
"I know five-berry cobbler is your favorite," he said to his friend.
"It's delicious," Toot told him. "Thank you." Toot's smile popped out for the first time in two days.
"It worked," Tulip sang the next morning.
     "Hooray for five-berry cobbler!"

BERRY COBBLER
Great Value Berry Medley, 16 oz
4 cups of frozen berries (you can buy a medley mix like this at most stores)
1 cup brown sugar
1 stick of butter
1 1/2 cups self rising flour
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups milk

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a saucepan combine frozen berries and brown sugar. Cook on medium until sugar is incorporated and fruit is thawed. Meanwhile, put butter in a 3 quart baking dish and place it in the oven to melt. In a medium bowl combine sugar and flour, and mix with a whisk. Then slowly pour in milk while whisking. Remove baking dish from oven and pour batter over the melted butter. Spoon fruit and liquid evenly over the top of the batter. DO NOT STIR!  Bake for about 35-40 minutes, until golden brown. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
